Biography

Black Science Orchestra was a British electronic house project led by DJ and producer Ashley Beedle, who began his career as a club DJ before forming the group in the early 1990s. The project’s breakthrough came with the 1992 single "Where Were You?", a reworking of The Trammps’ 1977 track, which received support from Frankie Knuckles and the Masters at Work crew and established the group’s reputation for disco‑inspired house. Following early releases such as "Strong" (1993) and "Brand New" (1994), Black Science Orchestra released its first studio album Walters Room in 1996, featuring a revised lineup that included Marc Woolford and Uschi Classen; the album was issued on Junior Boy's Own. The group has remained inactive since the early 2010s, with no further public releases or official disbandment announced.
