Blaakyum, a Lebanese metal band from Beirut, was founded in 1995 by Bassem Deaibess. The group initially performed pop/rock and spiritual songs before transitioning to thrash metal. Their first single, "Am I Black," was released in 1998 amidst significant cultural resistance. Blaakyum's debut album, Lord of the Night, was released in 2012, followed by their second album, Line of Fear, in 2016. The band gained international recognition through tours, including the "Thrash Mercenaries" Tour 2016 and performances at festivals like Tuska and Metaldays.
