BiTE A SHOCK is a Japanese idol group formed in Tokyo in 2023. This unit was established as the official successor to the well-known Japanese idol group BiSH, which disbanded on June 29th, 2023, and comprises members Mahito, Rina, Hanano, Ryuusei, Haruto, and Saori. The creation of BiTE A SHOCK was a result of an audition camp: as BiSH's disbandment approached, a pool of applicants was narrowed down to 12 finalists, from which six members were chosen to form the final lineup, collectively releasing four digital singles over May and June. On June 24th, the group's name was officially unveiled as BiTE A SHOCK with the complete lineup announced on July 1st, and their inaugural TV performance following on the same day, and debut live show occurring just 17 days later. Their first digital single, titled "Patient!!," was released on July 9th, 2023 and was featured as the theme song for the TV drama Iyashi no Otonari-san ni wa Himitsu ga aru. The group’s next track, "THE NEXT," was released on July 24th, followed by "Tokonatsu Planet" (常夏プラネット; Everlasting Summer Planet) on August 16th, 2023, which charted in the Top 200 in Japan.
