Bitch Magnet was an American post-hardcore band formed in 1986 at Oberlin College, Ohio. Their first release, the EP Star Booty, came out in 1988. The band's debut album, Umber, was released in 1989 under Communion Records in the US and Shigaku/What Goes On and Glitterhouse in Europe. They followed up with their second album, Ben Hur, in 1990. Notable tracks from this period include "Sadie" and "Mesentery". Bitch Magnet disbanded in 1991 but reunited in 2011 for performances at the All Tomorrow's Parties festival and tours across Europe and Asia. Their album, Bitch Magnet, was released as a compilation in 2011.
