Bing Rodrigo, was a Filipino singer born in 1954. He gained prominence with hits such as "Bakit May Pag-ibig Pa" and "Gintong Araw." In 1982, he was crowned "King of Tagalog Songs" and achieved several gold records. His notable works include the memorable jingle of the Seiko Wallet commercial. Rodrigo's career spanned decades, during which he became a staple in Philippine pop music. He was contemporary to other prominent Filipino artists such as Jun Polistico, Anthony Castelo, and Nonoy Zuñiga. Throughout his career, Rodrigo released numerous popular songs including "'Di Ko Ipagpapalit," "Hiram Lamang," and "Ikaw Pa Rin." Bing Rodrigo passed away on July 13, 2001.
