Biography
Sebastian "Billy" Mure, born November 4, 1915, in New York City, was an American guitarist who began playing violin at age nine before transitioning to guitar. He played in bands during World War II and later worked at radio station WNEW until 1957. Mure's career took off with the release of his first album Super-Sonic Guitars in Hi-Fi in 1957, followed by notable singles such as "The Answer to the Flying Saucer: U.F.O. (Men From Mars)". His single "A String of Trumpets" reached number 64 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1960. Mure released several albums throughout the late 1950s and early 1960s, including Hawaiian Percussion (1961). He continued performing until his death on September 25, 2013.
