Biography

Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings is a British rhythm and blues, blues, and blues-rock group formed in 1995 by former Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman. After leaving the Rolling Stones, Wyman took a two-year hiatus from playing bass to focus on other projects, including writing books and photography. In late 1995, he resumed his musical activities, jamming at home with Terry Taylor before contact was made with a rotating lineup of musicians, including Georgie Fame, Albert Lee, Peter Frampton, Andy Fairweather-Low, and Gary Brooker. Their debut album, Struttin' Our Stuff (1998), was followed by live performances in small clubs across Northern Europe. The group later toured throughout Europe and completed its only tour of the United States in 2001. Other releases include the albums Anyway the Wind Blows (1998), Groovin' (2000), Double Bill (2001), Just for a Thrill (2005), Live (2005), and Best of Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings (2009). The group's fluid lineup allowed for various studio guest collaborations, with contributions from Eric Clapton, George Harrison, and Mark Knopfler.
