Biography

Big Strides, a multi-genre London band, was formed in 2003, originally consisting of Marcus O'Neill on vocals, guitar, and harmonica, Lewis Kirk on drums, and Tom Pi on double bass. Their first album, Small Town, Big Strides, was released in 2005 on their own label, Tall Order Records. The single "Suicidal" from this album garnered significant attention with 300,000 downloads in the US. In 2006, Chris Kelly replaced Tom Pi as double bassist. Following regular appearances at Ronnie Scott's and performances at Glastonbury, Big Strides signed to Monumental Management Ltd. Their second album, Cry It All Out, was released in September 2006 and picked up for distribution in Japan (EMI) and Germany (India Media/Rough Trade). The band supported various artists including Roy Ayers, Horace Andy, Damien Rice, Bloc Party, and Arctic Monkeys. In November 2008, they released their third album, Super Custom Limited.
