Biography

Bernard Allison is a blues guitarist and singer from Chicago, Illinois and the son of Luther Allison, also famous in the same field. Allison gained the music bug from his father Luther, following him and his career over the course of the 1970s and being introduced to the likes of the legendary Muddy Waters amongst others. Teaching himself to play the guitar at the age of 12, during his studies while his father was touring internationally, he was forced to stay in school but once graduating, Allison was straight out on tour initially with Koko Taylor's band. The 1980s saw Allison becoming a star in his own right, performing with the likes of Stevie Ray Vaughan and his father (who had by this point asked him to lead his band) and eventually released his debut solo record 'The Next Generation' in 1990. Upon the passing of his father in 1997, he continued to forge a career on his own. Having maintained success across the next three decades, Bernard Allison continues to be a pioneer of the blues genre, constantly evolving his sound.
