Biography
Valencia, an American alternative rock band from Philadelphia, was formed in 2004. The group consisted of Shane Henderson on vocals, George Ciukurescu on bass, JD Perry and Brendan Walter on guitars, and Maxim Soria on drums. Valencia signed to I Surrender Records in 2005 after Rob Hitt, drummer of Midtown, heard their demo tape. Their debut album, This Could Be a Possibility, was released in 2005. In 2008, Valencia released their second album, We All Need a Reason to Believe. The band continued to tour extensively and opened for acts like blink-182. In 2010, they released their third album, Dancing with a Ghost. Tragedy struck in September 2011 when former drummer Maxim Soria was killed in a motorcycle accident, leading Valencia to announce a hiatus on October 11, 2011. The band reunited in 2016 for two shows and released new singles "Fall Before I Fold", "California", and "Rx".
