Behiye Aksoy was born Behiye Tetiker on September 19, 1933, in Istanbul, Turkey. Aksoy was a singer of Turkish classical music who began a career at age 15 after successfully auditioning for Ankara Radio. She performed with the station for nine years before making a stage debut in 1958. In 1961, Aksoy moved to Istanbul and became a headlining performer at the Maksim Gazino nightclub alongside Zeki Müren. Her discography includes approximately 100 singles and 20 LPs. Major albums include Dumanlı Meyhaneler (1968), Kıskanırım (1971), and Hatıralar (2006). Aksoy appeared in four films, including TaŠPlaktan Bugüne and Deli Deli Tepeli, and received a platinum diadem from her record label. Aksoy died on May 31, 2015.
