Toque Profundo, a rock music group from the Dominican Republic, formed in 1989 with the original lineup including Tony Almont on vocals, Leo Susana on guitars, Osvaldo Peña on bass, Lorenzo Zayas-Bazan on keyboards, and Maximo Gomez on drum . The band's breakthrough came when they participated in "Las Olimpiadas del Rock and released their first independent album Sueños y Pesadillas del Tercer Mundo in 1992. This album featured songs like "Mi PaÃs" and "El Jevito", addressing social issues within Dominican culture. In 1996, they released Moneda, which included hits such as "Llorar" and "Dios Salve Al Viajero". Their third album, CrÃa Cuervos (1999), featured top singles like "Botas Negras" and "Noche Sin Luna". The band's fourth album, Magia, released in 2002, showcased a broader musical range with influences from punk, afro, and alternative genres. Notable achievements include representing the Dominican Republic at the Benidorm Festival in Spain in 1993 and winning Best Pop/Rock Group at the Casandra Awards in 2011 and 2012.
