Biography

Beatriz Luengo González, born on December 23, 1982, in Madrid, Spain, is a Spanish musician known for her work as a singer, dancer, and composer. She began her career at a young age, taking classes in singing and dancing from the age of six. Her professional debut came at fourteen with the musical Peter Pan at the Palacio Municipal de Congresos in Madrid. Luengo's breakthrough moment occurred in 2001 when she joined the cast of the television series Un paso adelante, where she was part of the musical group UPA Dance. The group released a self-titled album and performed on a tour spanning over fifty cities, achieving significant commercial success with their CD+DVD release UPA Live. In 2005, Luengo released her debut solo album, Mi Generación, which featured collaborations with artists like Justin Timberlake and Yotuel Romero. The album earned her the award for Best New Artist from the Spanish Academy of Music. Her subsequent albums include Carrousel (2009), Bela Y Sus Moskitas Muertas (2011), and Cuerpo y Alma (2018). Luengo has been nominated for multiple Latin Grammy Awards, winning twice, including for writing Ricky Martin's album A Quien Quiera Escuchar.
