Banu KırbaÄ, born on March 2, 1951, in Istanbul, Turkey, was a singer known for her contributions to Turkish pop music. She began her musical journey as an amateur soloist in her school orchestra and later studied at the Istanbul University State Conservatory. In 1972, she joined the Zafer-Banu-Hülya trio, releasing four singles and one album until 1976. After pursuing a solo career under the name Banu Arman, she achieved success in 1978 with songs like "Ãlsem de Bir" and "Kalsam da Bir". KırbaÄ studied voice, solfeggio, harmony, and arrangement at ÃaÄdaÅ Dershane. In 1982, she released her album Anlatayım, earning the distinction of being the first Turkish female arranger. She won awards such as the GüneÅ Newspaper Special Award and TRT's best composition of the year with "Bırak Ellerimi". KırbaÄ died on August 18, 2025, in Istanbul at the age of 74.
