Bak Chang-geun (born November 5, 1972, in Yeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea) is a South Korean folk-pop singer known for his heartfelt vocals and deep connection to Korean folk music. He gained widespread recognition after winning the audition program Tomorrow is a National Singer (2021) on TV CHOSUN. Growing up, Bak was heavily influenced by the legendary band Sanwoolim. His passion for music ignited when he first heard Jeong Tae-choon's "Ah Korea" during his freshman year of college. He later joined the karaoke troupe at Daegu University, where he was profoundly inspired by folk icon Kim Kwang-seok. This experience solidified his decision to pursue a career in music. After completing his military service, Bak officially debuted as a solo artist in 1997 under the name We Are Here, Park Chang-geun. Over the years, he built a strong following, performing in university districts and folk music venues. His discography includes albums like Anti Mythos (1999), 무ì§ê° ë´ë¦° ë ê°ìì ìê° (2011), and Bak Chang Geun BEST 20 (2022). His 2022 Nationwide Tour Concert Live Album captured his emotional performances and dedication to live music.
