Biography
Bae Jin-Young took part in the second series of the knockout competition Produce 101, in which 101 contestants compete for a place in a boy band. The TV show chooses the final members of the band, the band name and their debut song. During the competition, Jin-Young impressed the audience with his performances of 'It's Me, Pick Me', 'Oh Little Girl', 'Hands On Me' and 'Always'. The group that formed as a result of the show was called Wanna One and became very successful not only for their music but also as a brand in South Korea.The final performance of Wanna One was early in 2019, and following this Jin-Young was given time to rest by his agents and record label before he embarked on a solo career. He released his first solo single 'Hard to Say Goodbye' in 2019 and it became an immediate hit on streaming services and YouTube.
