Ayla Dikmen was a Turkish singer born on 25 March 1944 in Kütahya. She achieved professional recognition in 1964 as a soloist for the Åerif YüzbaÅıoÄlu orchestra. She was the most rewarded singer at the second BoÄaziçi Müzik Festivali (1964) and reached first place at the Balkan Melodileri Müzik Festivali (1965) with the track âNiksarın Saplingsâ (1965). Dikmen became inactive in the music industry following the 1980 Turkish coup d'état. She died from uterine cancer on 20 August 1990. The track âAnlamazdınâ (1975) achieved posthumous popularity after being featured in the film Issız Adam (2008).
