Biography

Aye Nako is an American punk band from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2010. The group originated with Mars Ganito and Joe McCann, who performed together in the Oakland-based band Fleabag before relocating. After moving to Brooklyn, Ganito and McCann were joined by guitarist Jade Payne and drummer Angie Boylan. Promoting a community-oriented and LGBTQ-friendly ideology, the band self-released its debut album, Unleash Yourself, in 2013. In 2015, the group signed to Don Giovanni Records to release The Blackest Eye EP. This was followed by their second studio album, Silver Haze, in 2017. The band has performed with acts including P.S. Eliot and the Thermals. Current members include Ganito, McCann, Payne, and Sheena McGrath, while Boylan is a former member. The group was active between 2010 and 2026.
