Atomik Harmonik, a Slovenian dance and electronic music band, was formed in 2004 by musician Jani Pavec, who conceived the idea of a party band during a vacation on Crete. The group initially consisted of Pavec, musician Dejan Äelik, and singers Å pela Kleinlercher and Å pela GroÅ¡elj. Their debut single "Brizgalna Brizga" and subsequent album Brizgaaaaj! were released in 2004 and swiftly reached Number 1 on the Slovenian charts, maintaining their position for several months. In 2005, Atomik Harmonik collaborated with the Italian producer team Bliss Corporation, renowned for their work with Eiffel 65 and Haiducii. Together, they recorded eight new versions of "Brizgalna Brizga" in English, titled "Turbo Polka". This single became a popular hit on Alpine ski slopes and charted in both Austria and Germany. The band's success continued with their participation in the Slovenian Eurovision Song Contest pre-selection in 2006, where they performed "Polkaholik" and finished third despite receiving strong viewer support through telephone and SMS voting. Following these achievements, Å pela Kleinlercher left the group and was briefly replaced by Iris Soban, who departed after just two weeks. Mateja, affectionately known as TejÄi, later joined the band. In 2011, Atomik Harmonik released their album Traktor Polka, which featured the single "Jasmina". Throughout their career, Atomik Harmonik has been noted for blending traditional Slovak folk music with modern pop and electronic elements, creating a unique sound that has resonated with audiences both locally and internationally.
