Biography
Astronoid, a post-metal band from Lowell, Massachusetts, was formed in 2012 by vocalist Brett Boland and bassist Daniel Schwartz. The duo initially released two extended plays, November (2012) and Stargazer (2013), before expanding their lineup to include guitarist Casey Aylward, drummer Matt St. Jean, and guitarist Mike DeMellia. Their debut studio album, Air, was released in 2016 under Blood Music. The band's second album, the eponymous Astronoid (2019), followed their growing success. In 2022, they released Radiant Bloom, which included notable singles such as "Eyes" and "Sleep Whisper". Astronoid has toured extensively with acts like Ghost Bath, Periphery, Animals As Leaders, and Zeal & Ardor. Following the departures of St. Jean and DeMellia, respectively in 2018 and 2025, Astronoid released the album Stargod in November 2025.
