Biography
Ashtray Boy is an indie-rock band fronted by singer-songwriter Randall S. Lee. They were founded in Adelaide around 1984 as Ashtray Boy and his Country Cousin. They released their debut album The Honeymoon Suite in 1993. Over the years, they released a total of ten albums, including Macho Champions in 1994, Candypants Beach in 1995, and The Everyman's Fourth Dimension in 1996. They released the single "The French Girl" in 1996, and a split 7-inch release with Clag in 1995. During the mid-1990s, they had two working versions of the band in Sydney and Chicago, with Lee splitting his time between the cities. In addition to Ashtray Boy, Lee co-fronted Nice with Suzannah Stewart-Lindsay, recording the albums Nice in 1992 and Apple Pie in 1993.
