Art Objects were a Bristol-based post-punk band formed in 1978. The group consisted of Gerard Langley, Jonathan J. Key, Robin Key, Bill Stair, John Langley, and Wojtek Dmochowski. They played their first gig at Bristol's Ashton Court Festival in 1978. In 1980, they released the single âHard Objectsâ (1980), which included the tracks âBibliotequeâ (1980) and âFit of Piqueâ (1980). This was followed by the single âShowing Off to Impress the Girlsâ (1980), which featured a live version of âOur Silver Sisterâ (1980). Their sole album, Bagpipe Music (1981), was recorded in 1980. Shortly after, the band disbanded, with Gerard Langley, John Langley, and Dmochowski forming The Blue Aeroplanes. In 2007, Bagpipe Music (1981) was reissued.
