Biography

Art Objects were a Bristol-based post-punk band formed in 1978. The group consisted of Gerard Langley, Jonathan J. Key, Robin Key, Bill Stair, John Langley, and Wojtek Dmochowski. They played their first gig at Bristol's Ashton Court Festival in 1978. In 1980, they released the single “Hard Objects” (1980), which included the tracks “Biblioteque” (1980) and “Fit of Pique” (1980). This was followed by the single “Showing Off to Impress the Girls” (1980), which featured a live version of “Our Silver Sister” (1980). Their sole album, Bagpipe Music (1981), was recorded in 1980. Shortly after, the band disbanded, with Gerard Langley, John Langley, and Dmochowski forming The Blue Aeroplanes. In 2007, Bagpipe Music (1981) was reissued.
