Biography

Appearance of Nothing, a progressive metal band from Basel, Switzerland, was formed in 2004 by Pat Gerber (vocals, guitar), Yves Lüthi (drums), Omar Cuna (bass), and Marc Petralito (keyboard). The band released their debut self-produced album Behind Closed Doors in 2005. Peter Berger joined as lead guitarist and the band's first studio album, Wasted Time, produced by Markus Teske, was released in 2008. In 2010, Appearance of Nothing released their second studio album, All Gods Are Gone. The band underwent several lineup changes, including the departure of Yves Lüthi in 2011 and Peter Berger in 2017. Omar Cuna took over lead vocals after Pat Gerber's exit, and Albert Ibrahimaj became the new lead guitarist in 2018. Other notable albums include A New Beginning (2014) and In Times of Darkness (2019).
