Biography
Apparat, whose real name is Sascha Ring, is a German musician and producer of electronic and ambient music performing on the synthesiser and keyboards. Born in eastern Germany, he moved to Berlin in 1997 and started up a record label called Shitkatapult. He developed an intense and emotional style and released several mixtapes and albums including 'Multifunktionsebene' (2001), 'Tttrial and Error' (2002), 'Duplex' (2002), 'Orchestra of Bubbles' (2006), 'Walls' (2007) and 'DJ-Kicks' (2010). 'The Devil's Walk' (2011) went to number 12 on Billboard's Top Dance/Electronic Albums Chart and number 24 on the Heatseekers Albums Chart. 'Krieg und Frieden' came out in 2013 followed by compilation 'Multifunktionsebene, Trial and Error and Duplex', in 2015.
