Biography

Anything But Joey was a pop-rock band from Kansas City, formed in 1995 by high school friends Matt Groebe (lead vocals), Drew Scofield (bass/backing vocals), Jeff Polaschek (drums), and Bryan Chesen (guitar). Initially known as M.I.P., the band changed their name to Thulium after their first show. In 2002, they renamed themselves Anything But Joey and achieved local success with "Girl Roommate", which became a radio hit on KRBZ 96.5 FM. Their album Come Out Fighting was also released in 2002, featuring fan favorites like "One" and "Girls Like You". The band toured extensively, opening for Jimmy Eat World and playing dates on the 2003 Vans Warped Tour. Anything But Joey announced their breakup in January 2005.
