Biography

Antony Genn, born 1971 in Sheffield, United Kingdom, is a British composer, producer, guitarist, keyboard player, and singer whose career began at sixteen when he played bass for Pulp in 1988. After a brief stint with Pulp, Genn toured with Elastica in 1995‑96 on keyboards, and later joined Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros, co‑writing and producing their debut album Rock Art and the X‑Ray Style in 1998. He collaborated with artists such as Robbie Williams, UNKLE, Josh Homme, and Brian Eno, contributing to recordings across genres. In 2004 he co‑founded The Hours with Martin Slattery, releasing several EPs before the group disbanded in 2010. Antony Genn shifted focus to film and television scoring, composing the original score for Peaky Blinders Series 4 released on 12 June 2020 and the soundtrack for Peaky Blinders – The Immortal Man on 6 March 2026, cementing his reputation as a versatile composer in contemporary media.
