Biography

Anton Sanko, born July 4, 1960, in New York City, is an American composer, arranger and producer known for his film music. He studied music theory and composition at New York University. His collaboration with Suzanne Vega on albums like Solitude Standing (1987), received seven Grammy nominations, while Days of Open Hand (1990) won the Grammy for Best Recording Package in 1991. Sanko's film scoring began with director Jonathan Demme, composing music for Cousin Bobby. Over his career spanning more than 25 years, he has composed music for approximately 70 films and TV episodes. Notable works include soundtracks for The Possession (2012), Jessabelle (2014), Amanda (2018), and Les Passagers de la nuit (2022). His contributions have earned him several nominations, including a Prime Time Emmy Award nomination in 2013 for Ring of Fire, and César nominations in 2019 for Amanda.
