Biography

Anti-System is an English punk rock band from Bradford, West Yorkshire, formed in 1982. The original lineup included Phil Dean on vocals, George Clark on bass, Dom Watts on guitar, and Dave Damned on drums. Following their debut gig at the Palm Cove in Bradford, Anti-System recorded a demo leading to signing with Pax Records. They released the five-track Defence of the Realm EP in 1983. In 1985, they released a split single "Strange Love / So Long As" with Morbid Humour's "Oh My God (Part One)" and "Oh My God (Part Two)", and the album No Laughing Matter on Reconciliation Records. Known for promoting animal rights causes, Anti-System's lineup later included members of Subvert/Morbid Humour. In 2012, guitarist Mark "Varik" Teale reformed the band with past members Mark Keane and Mickey Knowles.
