Born Lars Ankerstjerne Christensen on August 15, 1984, in Hundige, Denmark, the rapper and songwriter is better known professionally by his middle name, Ankerstjerne. He began his musical career in 2007 when he signed to Nexus Records and began releasing music under the name Jinks. He came to prominence when his single âOne Nightâ (featuring Billy Beautiful) was featured on the soundtrack for the 2007 movie Rich Kids. Two years later, his 2009 single âYo-Yo Pt. 2â (featuring Joey Moe and Nik & Jay) reached number 11 on the Danish Top 40. He followed that single with one more under the name Jinks â âPssst! (Det PÃ¥ Mode At Være Grim)â â before leaving the Nexus label and changing his stage name to Ankerstjerne. Signing to the ArtPeople label, he scored a number 2 hit with âTag Hvad Du Vilâ (featuring Burhan G). After the release of several more hits â including the Top 10 singles âNattogâ and âDen første natâ (featuring Xander) â Ankerstjerne released his debut self-titled album in 2011. The album climbed to number 6 on the Danish albums chart and was followed by the release of the non-album singles âLaver Pengeâ (2013) and âLille Hjerteâ (featuring Shaka Loveless), which reached number 3 in 2014. His sophomore album, For Os (2015) reached number 7 on the Danish Albums chart and was followed by 2016âs Rapper EP, which rose to number 14. After an eight year break, Ankerstjerne returned with the single âBørn af Natten (Hola Bonita).â
