Biography
Burhan Genç Koç (January 20, 1983), who goes by Burhan G, is a Danish R&B and pop singer of Kurdish heritage who had a stint with hip-hop performers Outlandish before going solo in 2003. His 2004 debut recording, âPlayground,â went to Number 29 on the Denmark Albums Chart and he won the Danish Music Award for Best Danish Newcomer. Breakout (2007) peaked at Number 15 on the Denmark Albums Chart, Burhan G (2010) reached Number 2, Din for evigt topped the chart, and Pas pÃ¥ pigerne (2016) hit Number 4. He has collaborated with many other acts and several of his tracks have topped the Denmark Singles Chart including âMest ondtâ (2010) featuring Medina, âTættere pÃ¥himlenâ (2010) featuring Nik & Jay, âDin for evigtâ (2013), âKalder mig hjemâ (2013) and âKarmaâ (2014) featuring L.O.C. Even though he announced he would be going on an indefinite hiatus shortly after the release of his sixth full-length Et barn af jul (2019), Burhan G returned to the charts in 2021 with âLuftkys,â a collaboration with singer Tessa that went to Number 34 in Denmark.
