Anika Rose Moa, born on May 21, 1980, in Papakura, Auckland, New Zealand, is a singer. She grew up in Christchurch and attended Hornby High School. In 1998, Moa won the prize for most promising musician at the Smokefreerockquest music competition, which led to her signing with Warner Music New Zealand and Atlantic Records. Her debut album, Thinking Room, released in September 2001, reached Number 1 on the Official New Zealand Music Chart and featured successful singles "Youthful" and "Falling in Love Again". In August 2005, Moa released her second album, Stolen Hill. Her third studio album, In Swings The Tide, was released in October 2007 and became a platinum-selling record.
