Andrea Brachfeld, born Andrea on May 3, 1954, in Utica, New York, is an American jazz flutist. She began playing piano at age six and flute at 10, studying at the High School of Music & Art in Manhattan and later at the Manhattan School of Music. Brachfeld's career started with performances in Latin bands such as Tipica New York and collaborations with artists like Tito Puente and Ray Barretto. In 1976, she released her debut album Charanga '76 with Charanga '76, becoming the first woman to play flute in a Charanga band in the United States. Brachfeld's subsequent albums include Andrea (1978), Remembered Dreams (2001). She also released Lady of the Island (2014) and Lotus Blossom (2015).
