Biography

Andre Simon Anderson, who goes by the name André Cymone, is an American musician who plays bass, guitar, drums and other instruments in the funk rock style. He became the bassist in Prince's band in the late 1970s and toured with the star until 1981. He made his solo recording debut with 'Livin' in the New Wave' in 1982 and followed with 'Survivin' in the 80s' (1983). His 1985 release 'A.C.' made it to number 121 on the Billboard 200 and the track 'The Dance Electric' reached number 14 on Billboard's Dance Singles Sales chart. Other releases include 'The Stone' (2014), an EP titled 'Black Man in America' (2016) and '1969' (2017).
