Biography

Anastasia Screamed was an American alternative rock band formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 1987. The group initially consisted of drummer Chris Burdett and guitarist Christopher Cugini, with bassist Scott Lerner and singer Andy Jagolinzer completing the lineup. After releasing their debut single "What Kind Of Truth Is This / Gravity" in 1987, Jagolinzer was replaced by Knoxville singer Chick Graning. By 1990, Anastasia Screamed had relocated to Nashville and released their first album, Laughing Down The Limehouse, under the Roughneck Recording Company. The band's second and final album, Moontime, followed in 1991. During their career, they toured with Throwing Muses and gained airplay on college radio in the US and national radio in the UK. Anastasia Screamed disbanded in 1992, with Graning forming Scarce.
