Ana Sofia Lopes Malhoa, known professionally as Ana Malhoa, was born on August 6, 1979, in São Sebastião da Pedreira, Lisbon, Portugal. She began her career at the age of six, performing with her father, José Malhoa, a popular Portuguese singer. Between 1986 and 1995, Ana Malhoa released seven extended plays with her father. At 15, she hosted the children's television program Buéréré, launching albums that were certified multi-platinum. In 2000, Ana Malhoa released her debut studio album Ana Malhoa. She became a prominent figure in Portuguese pop music and Lusophone culture. Her subsequent albums include Eu Sou Latina (2004), Nada Me Pára (2007), Exótica (2008), A.M. Caliente! (2011), Azucar (2013), and Futura (2016). Ana Malhoa is the best-selling female pop artist in Portugal, with over 630,000 records sold in 2000.
