Biography

Amy London, born in 1957 in Cincinnati, Ohio, is an American jazz singer and educator. She moved to Manhattan in 1980 and began teaching jazz vocals in 1984. Her debut album as a leader was When I Look in Your Eyes, released in 2007 on Motéma Music. London's subsequent releases include "Let's Fly" (2011) and Bridges (2014). In 2015, she produced The Royal Bopsters Project, an album honoring vocalese singers, which received four and a half stars from DownBeat magazine. The Royal Bopsters performed at notable venues including Ronnie Scott's in London, The Half Note in Athens, and the 2019 Newport Jazz Festival. Their second recording, Party of Four, released in 2020, was voted Best Vocal Jazz Group in the 2020 JazzTimes Critics' Poll. London has also appeared on Broadway in the musical City of Angels from 1989 to 1992 and is an adjunct professor at several institutions.
