Amanda Richards (born April 25, 1983, in Orange, California) was an American filmmaker, producer, and singer-songwriter based in Portland, Oregon. The granddaughter of Rusty Richards (The Sons of the Pioneers), Richards began writing music at age 12. Her early recordings included the EP Last Train (2002) and the debut album Not Always Sexy (2004). Richards released the live album Live at Mississippi Studios in 2006, followed by the studio LP Who Has Your Heart in 2009. During her career, Richards performed in the burlesque scene under the stage name âDemandaâ. Her 2011 concept album, Play Dead, won an Independent Music Award for Best Concept Album. Richards authored, produced, and starred in the outlaw-country musical film Whiskey Dixie & The Big Wet Country (2018). Her discography also featured the albums Bleak Winter (2014) and Tough Ones to Love (2016).
