Biography

Alkehol is a Czech hard rock and heavy metal group from Prague, formed in 1992. The band was founded by Ota Hereš and Petr Buneš, with lyrics written in Czech regarding alcohol consumption. In November 1991, Hereš and Buneš established the band as a side project and completed the demo recording "Hospodo nalejvej" in January 1992. The group signed with the label Monitor and released its debut studio album Alkehol in June 1992. The recording reached number 20 on the Czechoslovakian TV charts. Following the release, Martin Melmus and Tonda Rauer joined the group. On November 25, 1993, the band performed a sold-out concert at the venue Lucerna in Prague. The group released albums including S úsměvem se pije líp (1993), Alkeholism (1994), Na zdraví (1995), Odpočívej v pokoji... (1996), and R.U.M. (2014). Radek Sladký joined the band in 2015, and Jan Bartoš joined in 2017.
