Alisan Leigh Porter, born Juneâ¯20â¯1981 in Worcester, Massachusetts, is an American singer, actress, and dancer whose career spans stage, television, and music. Her early exposure to performance began with child roles in Parenthood, Stella, and the 1991 film Curlyâ¯Sue, after which she pursued musical theatre, appearing in The Ten Commandments: The Musical and as Bebe Benzenheimer in the Broadway revival of Aâ¯Chorusâ¯Line. Porter released her selfâtitled debut album Alisanâ¯Porter on 9â¯Octoberâ¯2009, followed by Whoâ¯Weâ¯Are on 24â¯Novemberâ¯2014, and Theâ¯Completeâ¯Seasonâ¯10â¯Collection on 24â¯Mayâ¯2016. Her 2016 singles include "Blueâ¯Bayou", "Californiaâ¯Dreamin'", and "Silentâ¯Night" (2021). In Februaryâ¯2016 she joined seasonâ¯10 of Theâ¯Voice, winning the competition on 24â¯Mayâ¯2016 as part of Team Christinaâ¯Aguilera, a first for a female coach. Porter has collaborated with artists such as Adamâ¯Lambert and contributed to the Aâ¯Chorusâ¯Line cast recording. Her career highlights include the 2016 victory on Theâ¯Voice, the national anthem performances at Aâ¯Capitolâ¯Fourth (Julyâ¯2016) and a Sunday Night Football game (Novemberâ¯2016), and the release of a series of singles that showcase her countryâpop crossover appeal.
