Biography

Alisan Leigh Porter, born June 20 1981 in Worcester, Massachusetts, is an American singer, actress, and dancer whose career spans stage, television, and music. Her early exposure to performance began with child roles in Parenthood, Stella, and the 1991 film Curly Sue, after which she pursued musical theatre, appearing in The Ten Commandments: The Musical and as Bebe Benzenheimer in the Broadway revival of A Chorus Line. Porter released her self‑titled debut album Alisan Porter on 9 October 2009, followed by Who We Are on 24 November 2014, and The Complete Season 10 Collection on 24 May 2016. Her 2016 singles include "Blue Bayou", "California Dreamin'", and "Silent Night" (2021). In February 2016 she joined season 10 of The Voice, winning the competition on 24 May 2016 as part of Team Christina Aguilera, a first for a female coach. Porter has collaborated with artists such as Adam Lambert and contributed to the A Chorus Line cast recording. Her career highlights include the 2016 victory on The Voice, the national anthem performances at A Capitol Fourth (July 2016) and a Sunday Night Football game (November 2016), and the release of a series of singles that showcase her country‑pop crossover appeal.
