Biography

Ali Payami is a Swedish record producer, songwriter, and DJ born in 1983 in Tehran, Iran. He moved to Malmö as a child and developed an interest in house music while DJing at school parties and clubs. After meeting Julius Petersson, he began collaborating with Max Martin and Shellback. Payami co-wrote and co-produced the Ariana Grande track “Love Me Harder” (2014) and Taylor Swift’s “Style” (2015). He received a Grammy Award for Album of the Year in 2016 for his work on the Swift album 1989 (2014). His professional breakthrough included the The Weeknd single “Can't Feel My Face” (2015), which reached Number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Payami’s credits also include the Katy Perry single “Chained to the Rhythm” (2017) and the Liam Payne song “For You” (2018). His albums include the Poppy release Zig (2023) and the Jason Derulo project Nu King (2024).
