Romanian music and TV personality, actor, singer, composer and producer Alex Velea was born in Craiova on May 13, 1984. In 2004, he won the Star Factory competition, and three years later released his first album, Yamasha. He has collaborated with numerous artists as partner, composer or producer, including Anna Lesko, Anda Adam, Smiley, Connect-R, Puya and Grasu XXL, covering a wide range of urban and Balkan musical styles. His singles include major hits such as "Don't Say It's Over" (No. 4 in 2010), "Minim doi" (2012) and the No. 1 "Sifon afon" in 2020, which racked up millions of views on platforms and social networks. After a second album entitled Roca Roca (2022), Alex Velea collaborates with Dani Mocanu on "Dau în ei ca-n aparate" (2023), then scores another hit with "AÈa Ceva", ranked No. 6 in the Romanian charts in 2025.
