Biography

Alexandra Lahey, known as Alex Lahey, was born on July 30, 1992, in Albert Park, Melbourne, Australia. She is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who began her musical journey at age 13 with saxophone lessons and self-taught guitar. Lahey's breakthrough came with the release of "You Don't Think You Like People Like Me," which earned Pitchfork’s Best New Track Award. Her debut EP B-Grade University followed on 29 July 2016. On 6 October 2017, she released her first full-length album I Love You Like a Brother, which was critically acclaimed. Lahey's second album, The Best of Luck Club, was released in May 2019.
