Alex Bevan is an American guitarist, singer-songwriter, and music producer, among other talents. He began playing the French horn at Chambers Elementary School and later acquired a six-string classical guitar while attending Shaw High School in East Cleveland. His first album, No Truth to Sell, was released in 1971 under Big Tree Records, marking his debut as a singer-songwriter. Between 1971 and 1979, Bevan performed as an opening act for notable artists such as the Earl Scruggs Review and Jerry Jeff Walker. His album Springboard (1976) gained local recognition due to the hit song "Skinny Little Boy." He won an Emmy award for his postscore of The Rustbelt Blues (1987), part of NBCâs American Promise documentary series. Bevan continued to perform at various venues, including the Hessler Street and Coventry Street Fairs in Greater Cleveland, Ohio.
