Biography
Real name Alain Bris, French rock singer-songwriter Alain Brice was born in Bordeaux on December 2, 1948. Joining the cast of the rock opera La Révolution Française in 1973 alongside Antoine, Alain Bashung, Martin Circus and Les Charlots, he befriended Renaud, for whom he wrote the 1979 hit "Ma gonzesse". Signed by the Philips label, he produced the album Et d'Un! the same year, which enjoyed great success with the radio-programmed tracks "Et je crois que c'est l'amour", "Tu n'es pas venue " and "Mon vieux Robert". After opening for Patrick Sébastien at the Olympia, Alain Brice returned to the studio for the single "Quand j'en aurai fini" (1980), and went on to record his second album, Partir (1982). He followed this up with further singles, "T'es belle comme" and "Toute ressemblance..." in 1982, and "L'Amour King Size" in 1984. Retired from the stage, he died accidentally on October 4, 2002 at the age of 53.
