Biography
Amaral is a Spanish rock duo formed in Zaragoza in 1992 by Eva Amaral and Juan Aguirre. The pair met in a local bar in 1992 and began performing in Zaragozaâs underground scene, releasing their single "Rosita" in 1998 after signing with Virgin. Their debut selfâtitled album was released in 1998, followed by Una pequeña parte del mundo (2000), Estrella de mar (2002) which earned an MTV Europe Music Award for Best Spanish Act in 2002, and Pájaros en la cabeza (2005) that sold over 900,000 copies worldwide. Subsequent releases include Gato negro/Dragón rojo (2008), Hacia lo salvaje (2011), Nocturnal (2015), Salto al color (2019) which entered the chart at Number 1, and Dolce Vita (2025). The duo has received multiple Premios Nacionales de las Musicas Actuales, a Premio de la Música for Best Album in 2009, and a II Premio Nacional de las Musicas Actuales in 2010.
