Airhead, an English indie rock band from Maidstone, United Kingdom, formed in 1991. Initially known as Jefferson Airhead, they were forced to change their name due to its similarity to Jefferson Airplane. The group achieved minor success with their early singles "Funny How" and "Counting Sheep", both of which charted on the UK Singles Chart. Their debut album Boing!! was released in February 1992, peaking at number 29 on the UK Albums Chart. Airhead's most notable achievement came with "Funny How", which, despite not being their highest-charting single, gained significant airplay on BBC Radio 1 and was used as the introductory music for the BBC football show Match of the Day. After releasing one album and several singles, Airhead were dropped by their record label Korova. Their final release, the That's Enough EP, came out in 1993 under Mother Tongue. Airhead disbanded in 1993 but the band made a brief return to the live scene in 1996 when they supported Kula Shaker at the Tunbridge Wells Forum.
