Biography

Across the Border, a German folk-punk band from Remchingen in Baden-WÃ¼rttemberg, was formed in August 1991. The group gained early traction with releases like Dance Around the Fire (1993) and Hag Songs (1994). Their unique blend of punk-rock, folk, ska, and rock earned them a reputation as pioneers of the folk-punk genre in Germany. Notable songs include "I Can't Love This Country" and "Last Crusade". The band's critical commentary on societal issues resonated with audiences, leading to over 300 concerts across Europe. Across the Border disbanded in November 2002 due to professional demands but reunited in May 2007. They released Loyalty in January 2009 via Twisted Chords/Broken Silence. In November 2012, the band announced they were disbanding again and performed at the Karlsruhe Substage. In 2016, the band released the vinyl album Calling 999 and performed subsequent comeback concerts in Karlsruhe and Freiburg in 2017, 2022, and 2024.
