Aboutou Roots is an Ivorian musical ensemble formed in 1986 in Lauzoua. The group performed in the Youssoumba and zougloumatique genres, utilizing tambours, bottles, and harmonized vocals. Managed by Boby Six, the ensemble released its debut studio recording, Protège toi, in 1998. Subsequent albums included Côte d'Ivoire la blessure (1999) and La Liberté n'a pas de prix (2002). In 2008, the group released the recording Dieu merci, which featured the track âOn ne finit jamaisâ. The album Aide-toi appeared in 2010, featuring the song âOn finit jamais d'apprendreâ. Aboutou Roots performed at venues such as the Palais de la Culture in Treichville and the Vert Paradis in Cocody. The ensemble launched the 100% Zouglou Live concept in 2008 and performed a live concert in October 2023. Lead vocalist Angelo Papa died on December 3, 2025, in Abidjan.
