Biography

Affodohouto Kowémaho Yvette was born in Aglogbé-Adjarra, a village near Benin's capital Porto-Novo, on May 18, 1979. Turning to dance from the age of 9, she met a number of artists who steered her towards music. Under the name Affo Love, she tried her hand at singing, before moving to Côte d'Ivoire. The Beninese singer was no exception to the coupé-décalé craze that swept the country in the early 2000s, unveiling major projects in the style. Affo Love made a name for herself with the chokanawa concept, followed by the album Yêyê Dingbo (2006), released by MG Productions, which quickly became a hit, notably through its featuring with DJ Lewis on "La danse de l'araignée". However, Affo Love's career was cut short when she fell ill on February 1, 2009 at the Centre national hospitalier et universitaire Hubert Koutoukou Maga in Cotonou, Benin.
