Aberdeen City was an American indie/alternative rock band from Boston, active between 2001 and 2009. The band members were Ryan Heller, Chris McLaughlin, Rob McCaffrey, and Brad Parker. They released their first EP, Bright, in 2001. Their breakthrough album, The Freezing Atlantic (2005), produced by Nic Hard and Steve Lillywhite, was voted the number one new album by the WFNX Boston Phoenix Best Music Poll in 2006 and won Local Album of the Year at the 2006 Boston Music Awards. The band's first single, "God Is Going To Get Sick Of Me", took home the "Local Song of the Year" award in 2005. Aberdeen City toured nationally with acts such as Electric Six and The Go! Team. In 2007, they collaborated with Amanda Palmer on several songs. Heller left the band in June 2008 to pursue graduate studies, and Aberdeen City disbanded in 2009.
